Avant de se lancer dans l'apiculture, il faut un minimum d'équipement:

Un enfumoir,


que l'on remplira d'aiguilles de pin bien sèches,


des cadres et leur cire gaufrée (quel dommage que vous ne puissiez sentir la bonne odeur qui s'en dégage!),




Une tenue de cosmonaute, non, pardon, une vareuse!

un emplacement idyllique,


et c'est parti!

Before doing anything with bees, you need to have the proper equipment:

* wood frames holding the wax sheet, foundations for the bees to start their cells (too bad you cant's smell it!)

* a smoker, filled with dried pine needles to provide a nice cool smoke

* protective clothing which kinda make you look like an astronaut (!)

*a wonderful quiet and sunny setting

Flashback indispensable avant de vous montrer des choses plus intéressantes!

Au début donc, un clou... ou plutôt des clous, de l'huile de coude, un kit en bois et un mode d'emploi plutôt succinct (à côté, les meubles Ikea c'est de la gnognotte!).

Mais on y est arrivés, quelques heures (...jours...) plus tard, 2 belles ruches LANGSTROTH, prêtes à accueillir leurs premières habitantes!




Un coup de fil d'un ami apiculteur, un essaim à récupérer chez des particuliers, et c'est l'aventure qui démarre! Mais ça, ce sera pour la prochaine fois...

Mandatory flashback before showing you anything more important! So, at the beginning, there was a nail... or rather there were nails, and wood and spit and polish, and a "how-to" which would make an ikea furniture kit look like a toy game! But we did it, and a few hours later (...or rather days...), 2 beautiful LANGSTROTH hives were completed and ready to welcome the first bees. A phone call from a friend beekeeper, a swarm to pick up in a private house, and we're ready to roll! To be continued...
